5 Segments of the Gitchi-Gami State Trail
The Gitchi-Gami State Trail currently offers 5 segments along Lake Superior between Two Harbors and Grand Marais, Minnesota.
Eventually, all of the segments will be connected to create an 89-mile paved biking trail on the North Shore MN. It will be one of the longest and most comprehensive bike trails in Minnesota. Learn more about current and future trail development here.
Each segment offers outstanding scenery and amenities, all set against Lake Superior! Activities along the trail include biking & hiking, exploring Minnesota State Parks, discovering towns riçh in character, and taking in the region’s art, culture, and history.

Explore each unique segment of the Gitchi-Gami State Trail
This short, approximately 1-mile segment begins at Park Road near the municipal campground in Two Harbors and travels along the lakeside of Hwy 61 to the intersection with Superior Shores Road.
This segment will help folks get to and from Superior Shores, and is our first step to getting to Flood Bay State Wayside.

Click HereThis short-but-sweet 1/2 mile of trail is located atop the old Highway 61 road grade, adjacent to the iconic Silver Creek Tunnel.

This 5-mile segment is one of the newest additions to the Gitchi-Gami Trail. Enjoy the new construction, endless Lake Superior views, and more.

- Cutface Creek State Wayside with picnic areas, Lake Superior beach, and vault toilets (open seasonally)
- Cross the Fall River and see the lovely waterfall up close
