Hey y'all! The Gitchi-Gami State Trail has been nominated for a USA TODAY Best Recreational Trail contest!! You can vote once per day until noon on April 6, 2026!! Vote here: https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/gitchi-gami-state-trail-minnesota/ Stretching along the northeast of Minnesota, this 36-mile trail is still being built out, and once complete, it will be a whopping 86 miles, with stops across five state parks, four scientific and natural areas, and multiple towns and historic sites. It’s already incredibly impressive, offering splendorous views of Lake Superior with views of the Temperance River Gorge, the Beaver Bay Bridge, the North Shore Mining Railroad, Grand Marais, and so much more.
